Tenebrae & Third Culture Collective Live in Manchester

Tenebrae & Third Culture Collective

Monday 6 october 2025

7:30 pm

Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

Join professional choir Tenebrae and Indian classical musicians from Third Culture Collective as we launch our new collaboration at Bridgewater Hall.

Through a series of experimental workshops, we have worked together to bridge the differences between our traditions – one rooted in complex harmony and notation, the other in raga-based intricacy and improvisation.

The result is a bold exploration of One Voice – a seamless sound world of western choir, soaring Hindustani vocals, and resonant textures of sitar, bansuri, tabla, and harmonium.

Under the direction of Kavi Pau and Nigel Short, you will hear reimagined works, new arrangements, and original compositions that take you across continents and generations.

Following a well-received pilot at the Barbican Centre earlier this year, we have created a full programme of reimagined works and new arrangements – and you can hear it first at The Bridgewater Hall. Don’t miss it!
