Symphony of Gujarat makes triumphant India debut!

On Sunday 9 August 2026, Symphony of Gujarat made its long-awaited India debut, bringing Osman Mir, Aamir Mir, Kavi Pau and the Third Culture Collective Orchestra together for a spectacular evening at Mumbai’s incredible Sapphire Dome.

More than 2,500 guests filled the venue for a sold-out performance, the first time Symphony of Gujarat had been presented in Mumbai, and the first time the production had come to India.

It was a night full of emotion and celebration. Audiences sang along, laughed, cried and danced Garba as Gujarati folk music and Western orchestral sound came together on stage.

The concert featured the music from the Symphony of Gujarat album, originally created and performed in London, alongside new music written especially for the Mumbai performance. This included Aamir Mir’s viral ‘Tu Hai To, Dil Dhadakta Hai’, reimagined for our symphonic ensemble.

The performance brought together musicians from across the world: orchestral players from London, leading western classical musicians from India, Osman Mir’s folk ensemble, and the Third Culture Collective Orchestra. Together, they created a unique musical meeting point between Gujarati folk traditions and western classical orchestra.

For Third Culture Collective, the Mumbai performance marks an important new chapter. What began as a project bringing South Asian and Western musical traditions together in London has now travelled to India. The response has shown there is a huge appetite for more.

This is only the beginning.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this performance possible; the musicians, artists, production team, partners, crew, promoters, and most importantly, the audience who filled Sapphire Dome and made the night so special.
